Mainland Europe's population of airworthy jet warbirds increased by one on 8 December, when Aero CS-102'2514'/OK-UTI-a Czechoslovak licence-built MiG-15UTI - made its first flight since being purchased by the Czech Flying Legends organisation. The successful sortie was undertaken out of Flying Legends' base at Hradec Kralove. The two-seat aircraft (c 242266) made its first flight from the Aero Vodochody factory airfield on 22 April 1955. Two months later it was exported to the Polish Air Force as serial 2266, serving with 61 LPSzB at Biala Podlaska up to November 1990. With the end of the Eastern Bloc, the CS-102 was sold to American owner-pilot Tom Smith of Paso Robles. California, in 1994 and registered N41125. He operated it until its sale to Czech Flying Legends in 2013. The CS-102's new colours are those of an example operated by Czechoslovak Air Force fighter-bomber unit 30. sbolp from Hradec Kralove.
