SE5E flies

Eberhardt SE5E B4863/G-BLXT flew again at Sywell on 21 October, following restoration by Air Leasing. The machine is one of 50-odd SE5s rebuilt by the Eberhardt Steel Products Company in Buffalo, New York during 1922. The SE5Es were used as advanced trainers in the USA. Acquired by the Hon Patrick Lindsay at the Wings and Wheels Auction in Orlando, Florida 1981, it flew again at Booker during 1986. It was subsequently briefly operated by the Old Flying Machine Company at Duxford, but has not been seen in public for more than 20 years.
