Fokker F.Ⅶ to fly again with HARS

Restoration of Fokker F.Ⅶ/3m replica VH-USU at Albion Park Airport near Sydney is moving on apace with the Historic Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS), and it is hoped that it will be ready to fly again some time between late 2016 and mid-2017. The aircraft suffered an undercarriage oleo failure while landing at Parafield Airport, Adelaide on 25 May 2002, resulting in serious damage to the outer 10ft of the starboard wing. The HARS team has constructed 20ft replacement forward and aft laminated spruce and birch ply box spars, which have been scarf-joined to the originals. Wing ribs have been repaired and re-fitted to the new spars, and new stringers fitted.
