TVAL D.VII flies in New Zealand

It has been a while since the last 'new' aircraft was added to The Vintage Aviator Ltd (TVAL)'s ever-growing collection of World War One aircraft at Hood aerodrome in Masterton, New Zealand, but now a reproduction early-model Fokker D.VII, ZK-TBI, has joined the fleet of airworthy machines.The D.VII project was originally started by Achim Engels at Waschenbeuren in Baden-Württemberg, southern Germany and then moved on to Fred Murrin of Greenville, Pennsylvania to be completed to flying condition. Fred is very well-known for building World War One aircraft to the most exacting standards, and as he was already constructing a D.VII for an American-based collector the project was sent to Greenville for completion alongside the aircraft he had under way.
