Singaporean Hunter to Miami

The Wings Over Miami Air Museum at Miami Executive Airport, Florida received a former Republic of Singapore Air Force Hawker Hunter FR74B at the end of March, courtesy of UK-based broker Historic and Classic Aircraft Sales (HCAS). The 64-year-old fighter was moved from its previous home at Tocumwal in New South Wales for its new owner, Jeff Berry, the museum vice-president, who intends to return it to airworthy condition. Originally built in 1956 as a Hunter F4, it served with the RAF as XF369, and in 1972 was one of 22 refurbished airframes delivered to Singapore. It was operated by 141 Squadron at Tengah with the serial 538 until being retired in 1992.
