SHOW of the CENTURY?

Fifty years ago, France staged what many would call the greatest aviation show on earth. For the diamond jubilee event in the annals of the biennial Salon Aeronautique at Le Bourget, the major aircraft manufacturers, engine producers and equipment suppliers gathered as usual, but 1969's edition was special. It proved to be an outstanding exhibition of some of the truly great aeroplanes which would lead world aviation into its next half-century and beyond.
