Industrial-scale process for solvent-spun bamboo

A Chinese company has proposed a way to make solvent-spun bamboo fibres that have a high wet modulus. In contrast to existing solvent-spun methods and the commonly used viscose process for making bamboo fibres, Shanghai Lyocell Fibre Development Co Ltd claims that its approach is easy to use, produces no pollutants and consumes low amounts of energy, making it suitable for continual industrial-scale production.
