The world's first stretchable and conformable thin-film transistor-driven light-emitting diode (LED) display that can be laminated onto textiles has been developed as the result of collaboration between researchers from Belgium and The Netherlands. Comprising workers at the Hoist Centre in Eindhoven, imec in Leuven and CMST, imec's associated laboratory at Ghent University, the team believes creating displays that can be integrated with textiles in order to allow interaction with the wearer is a key step towards realizing wearable devices in clothing.
