Asahi Kasei to increase production capacity for artificial suede

In response to increasing demand from suppliers of automotive interiors and information technology (IT) accessories, Asahi Kasei is to further increase its production of artificial suede (Lamous) at its plant in Nobeoka, Japan. Work is currently underway to increase production from six million square metres a year to ten million square metres a year. This capacity will now be increased by a further four million square metres a year. Asahi Kasei of Tokyo, Japan, plans to have the plant running at full capacity in the second half of its 2021 fiscal year (April 2021-March 2022).
