A long-lasting industrial fabric designed to support fibre webs in a processing machine, such as a paper machine or a pulp machine, has been developed by Valmet Technologies. According to the company of Espoo, Finland, dirt and fibres adhering to the surface of the fabric can be washed-off easily, thereby prolonging its operational life. Disclosed in European Patent Publication EP3420132, the woven industrial fabric (1) comprises twisted machine-direction (MD) yarns with flat cross-sections (2) and round cross-direction (CD) yarns (3).
