STUDIES ON ENZYMATIC PROPERTIES OF RICE CLASS Ⅱ CHITINASE OVEREXPRESSED IN PICHIA PASTORIS

摘要

New class Ⅱ plant chitinase that was similar to class Ⅳ has been detected from rice. Attempt to express this chitinase in E. coli was not successful due to all synthesized enzyme was fallen into insoluble fraction. The chitinase expressed in P. pastoris has been secreted into medium and in active form. The biochemical properties of the chitinase were studied. It was shown that, the rice class Ⅱ chitinase has the lytic and antifungal activities.
