A phase-out of HFCs would be a disaster

The ACR Show 2012 was officially opened by Graeme Fox, president of AREA. In this, his keynote speech he rails against the environmentalist who chose to turn a blind eye to the potential dangers of natural refrigerants and impose them upon applications where HFCs are more efficient and why the EU is looking at the subject of pre-charged systems Environmental lobbyists have been calling for a phase out of HFCs: a move towards a total ban on HFCs the same as we already have with CFCs and are heading towards with HCFCs. Now, you might argue that the environment is benefitting from not using those gases and the same applies with HFCs, but I would counter that argument on energy efficiency grounds.
