As the title suggests, Digital Humanities in Practice does not dwell on the theoretical question, "What are digital humanities?" There are other books that tackle this issue, among them David M. Berry's Understanding Digital Humanities (Palgrave Macmillan, 2012). Readers looking for a philosophical or explanatory resource might do well to consult a text such as Berry's before delving into the more praxis-oriented approach of Warwick, Terras, and Nyhan. However, both experienced digital humanists and those new to the topic will likely come away from Digital Humanities in Practice with a better understanding of the discipline as a whole.
