摘要

In 2013, the University of Mississippi Libraries switched methods of purchasing demand-driven acquisitions (DDAs) for ebooks. The libraries moved from a method mediated by ebook vendor Ebrary to one mediated by book jobber YBP. Afterward, there was a sharp decrease in the number of ebook titles purchased after 2013 as compared with the previous method used in 2010-2013. This article examines purchased titles to determine why this difference exists and comes to the conclusion that Ebrary's system had less ability to be mediated, resulting in a larger number of titles, while YBP offered many title mediation options that were eagerly used by librarians, reducing the number of texts available for DDA purchase.
