Nonadherence to drug therapy is clearly associated with adverse events.nHo and colleagues showed that discontinuation of 3 proven therapiesn(statins, β-blockers, and aspirin) 1 month after discharge was associatednwith increased risk for death in patients hospitalized for MI. Discontinuationnwas common, with 1 of 3 patients stopping a drug within anmonth after discharge.
