Computer-Generated Residential Building Layouts

We present a method for automated generation of building layoutsrnfor computer graphics applications. Our approach is motivated byrnthe layout design process developed in architecture. Given a setrnof high-level requirements, an architectural program is synthesizedrnusing a Bayesian network trained on real-world data. The architecturalrnprogram is realized in a set of floor plans, obtained throughrnstochastic optimization. The floor plans are used to construct arncomplete three-dimensional building with internal structure. Werndemonstrate a variety of computer-generated buildings produced byrnthe presented approach.
