The model for chloride transport in concrete was established byconsidering both effects o f diffusion and capillary suction. Themodel was verified by chloride penetration tests under cyclicwetting and drying conditions. The developed model was used toanalyze similarities under different environmental conditions foraccelerated tests. The results showed that the influence of externalchloride concentration on chloride penetration was smallerwith a larger depth. When the ambient relative humidity (RH)decreased, the penetration rate increased when RH was largerthan 70%. However, the penetration rate decreased when the RHwas smaller than 70%. The results also indicated that when thewetting-to-drying time ratio in a cycle increased, the penetrationrate increased first and then decreased after a critical ratio. Whenthe cycle period decreased, the penetration rate first increased andthen decreased during a small time period.
