As most readers will be aware, major US corporations have just completed their first full year of financial reporting under the new Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) legislation. One of the most problematical areas for first-round reporters has been tax. SOX legislation is intended to improve the risk management, financial control and accuracy of company reporting.The tax function is an area where most groups have struggled, and many have failed.
