摘要

Sir - I read with interest your article entitled 'Women lose out on partnerships' (August issue, p5). My own experience suggests that women can be their own worst enemies. Irrespective of gender, you need to be vocal about your career ambitions to be considered for any type of promotion. Men are traditionally more bullish about their ambitions and abilities. Women, however, are sometimes put off by this approach, concerned with the negative perceptions associated with self-promotion. You might not want to be considered hard-nosed but, the simple fact is, if your boss doesn't know what you want from your career then how are you going to achieve your goals?
