Google and Microsoft battle on

The big boys in the world of desktop and online applications are increasingly targeting each other's turf (see 'Fight club', Accountancy, October 2007, p68), particularly when it comes to corporate users. Microsoft is buying the Norwegian internet-search software firm Fast Search & Transfer, and Google has formed an alliance with the spreadsheet management and control specialist ClusterSeven.
