You can't see it and you can't touch it, but you've probably experienced 'the cloud' (even if you didn't realise it), because the term 'cloud computing' refers to the practice of using shared computer resources and services that are made accessible over the internet in a form that can expand or contract on demand. Cloud-based software and services are provided (sometimes by the minute or the hour) free or on a pay as you use basis, they are dynamically scalable, or elastic (users can access as much or as little as they want whenever they need to), and they are fully managed by the provider (users need just a computer and internet access).
