As European politicians continue to debate how the audit market can be reformed, the parliamentary committee responsible for pushing through the changes will not vote on amendments to the original proposals until early next year. JURI, the legal affairs committee of the European Parliament, was originally expected to vote this month (December) on the proposals, but that now looks likely to be pushed back until January 2013. At the same time, it is believed that the European Council's work on audit reform is progressing very slowly, and it is expected that the discussion will continue on into the Irish presidency, due to start next month (January 2013).
