FEES FOR IRISH BANK AUDITS ATTACKED

A politician has hit out at the Irish government for allowing Big Four firms to audit state-owned banks like a 'racket', following KPMG's re-appointment to Allied Irish Bank, where it has been auditor for the past 10 years. Independent Irish politician, TD Shane Ross, was outraged at KPMG's 'scandalous extraction of €50m (£40.3m) for fees from the bank during the boom and bust decade'.
