WH SMITH SWITCHES TO PwC AFTER 65 YEARS

WH Smith has become the latest FTSE company to switch auditors, after a formal tender process saw PwC appointed statutory auditor, ending the company's 65-year relationship with Deloitte. The retailer said the appointment is subject to approval by shareholders at the AGM on 21 January 2015. Deloitte has audited WH Smith since 1949 and was paid a total of £300,000 in audit fees plus £100,000 for non-audit services last year, according to the retailer's 2013 annual report and accounts.
