At some point during the next few months the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the US Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) are due to issue their new standard on revenue recognition. This project has been rumbling on for a number of years and is finally reaching a conclusion. The standard will replace the existing requirements and guidance under both International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US GAAP.
