The Effect of Sewing and Washing Processes on the Seam Strength of Denim Trousers

In this study, the effect of different seam types and washing processes on the seam strength of denim trousers was investigated. Indigo-dyed denim fabric was used as the material. Four different seam types and nine different washing processes were selected for the study. The impact of seam type and wash method on the seam strength was found to ben statistically significant. When the four seam types were evaluated, the five-thread overlook + two-needle lockstitch was determined to be the most resistant to the washing processes.
