Genapsys 100X Solution: Label-free Fully-integrated Personal Genomixer

Personalized Medicine is ushered in by rapid advancements in science and technology and new understanding of health and disease at the molecular level. The goal is to predict and intervene early, provide individualized therapy for genetic predisposition, cancer, and drug efficacy and safety so health care professionals and patients can be proactive in lifestyle changes and increased surveillance, where at any age or health condition one can have their personal genetic profile done in any small laboratory or physician's office around the world. Improvements by an order of magnitude in ease, cost, and speed in genetic sequencing tests are critical enabler not only for clinical research, but also for the development of genetic based diagnostics and effective therapies. Today, instruments are far too difficult to use, requiring significant laboratory and IT infrastructure. As a result, typical costs are $1,000s per test and instruments far too costly (>$100Ks). Furthermore, a human genome or 100s-genes per test takes weeks, not hours.Our GENIUS™ (Gene Electronic Nano-Integrated Ultra-Sensitive) “Sample to Answer” platform can provides 100X improvement in cost, ease and speed. With the size of a small PC, the GENIUS PG (“Personal Genomixer”) dramatically simplifies user workflow, reduces IT and laboratory infrastructure requirements, while providing the fastest and most economical answers. GENIUS' unique technology includes its simple low cost label-free chemistry integrated with its high efficiency nanosensor detection and emulsion-free amplification technology for full automation. It will deliver genetic sequencing tests for 10s-1,000s of genes or human genome with disruptive cost ($10-$100s/test) and results in hours. Without complex optics, this simple instrument has ultra-low COGs and data outputs are reduced by orders of magnitude.We have achieved proof-of-concept and have working prototype systems of the GENIUS technology, including successful demonstration of integrated label-free electronic sequencing, high accuracy homopolymer sequencing and sample preparation unit.
