William R. Brody, MD, is a retired radiologist and board member at Radiology Partners. He was the chair of radiology at Johns Hopkins and later president of the university. He was also president of the Salk Institute from 2008 to 2015, where he is currently professor emeritus. Dr Brody received his BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his MD and PhD, also in electrical engineering, from Stanford University. After postgraduate training in cardiovascular surgery and radiology at Stanford, the National Institutes of Health, and the University of California, San Francisco, he was associate professor and then professor of radiology and electrical engineering at Stanford University. In 2010, he was awarded the Gold Medal of the RSNA for his contributions to medical imaging science.
