摘要

Human studies have demonstrated the beneficial effects of soy or isoflavoneson bone metabolism. However, conflicting data remain. Equol is theintestinal metabolite of the isoflavone daidzein. The health benefits of soyare more pronounced in equol producers than those not producing equol. This6-month randomized controlled trial aimed to examine the effect of whole soy(soy flour) and purified daidzein on bone turnover markers (BTMs) in Chinesepostmenopausal women who are equol producers.
