Pericellular hypoxia in C2C12 cells growing at 5% oxygen (incubator headspace gas) is greater in media with physiological glucose levels compared to common hyperglycemic media. Data represent averages calculated from 30 min of continuous oxygen measurements using the PreSens (Gmbh) SDR SensorDish Reader and SDR software. Each experimental condition was repeated four times. C2C12 cells were seeded into OD24 OxyDishes at 6000 cells per well and grown in DMEM medium containing either 5 mM or 25 mM glucose for up to 72 h. Measurements were taken at 48 h and 72 h
