Example of three hypothetical populations with 20 sibships with sizes Ni = 2,3,...,21. In each population families are ranked according to SEf (left panel) and LRC (right panel). The black lines represents a population in which all families have two siblings belonging to the top 5% survivors (long-lived) of their sex-specific birth cohort and the rest of siblings belonging to the top 30% survivors (not long-lived). The blue lines represent a population in which all families have two siblings belonging to the top 10% survivors (long-lived) of their sex-specific birth cohort and the rest of siblings belonging to the top 30% survivors.
