I know what it is to be on “one side of things.” Friends and colleagues would likely consider me as more of an “activist” than not. Strong parental figures helped me along this path, raising 2 strong daughters who are not afraid to say what they believe and think. From my early days of creating a petition at my high school because the uniform policy was not equal for both genders, to co-authoring a letter to the editor of 2 Montreal newspapers on ending declawing in Quebec, I am deeply connected with what it feels like to be an “activist” — to feel so strongly about something, that I am ready to put my neck out. If you live in Ontario, you will see the other Stiles sibling daily in the media speaking out as education critic for the official opposition. Enough said, the Stiles sisters get the message out!
