摘要

ObjectiveObesity and type 2 diabetes are reaching epidemic proportions in Western societies and contribute to substantial morbidity and mortality. The PPARγ and PGC-1α system plays an important role in regulating efficient energy utilization and oxidative phosphorylation both of which are decreased in obesity and insulin resistance.
