BackgroundPatients with relapsed/refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL) often have chemotherapy resistant disease resulting in a poor prognosis. The aim of this study was to learn if inhibition of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) would produce tumor responses.
