BackgroundMultiple studies estimate that inappropriate antibiotic prescribing ranges from 30–50% in hospitalized patients, but few have included pediatric patients. Pediatric studies characterizing inappropriate prescribing are needed to target and improve antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP) efforts.
