Five minutes static stretching influences neural responses at spinal level in the background of unchanged corticospinal excitability

Objectives:Corticospinal tract excitability and spinal reflex pathways are transiently affected by short applications of static stretching. However, it remains unclear whether the duration and magnitude of these neurophysiological responses can be increased with a longer duration of the applied stretch. The purpose of this study was to investigate alterations in cortical and spinal excitability following five minutes static stretching.
