class="kwd-title">Keywords: AL amyloidosis, Cardiac, Echocardiography, Global longitudinal strain, Regression class="head no_bottom_margin" id="sec1title">IntroductionCardiac involvement with amyloid light chain (AL) amyloidosis results in characteristic macroscopic structural and functional changes on transthoracic echocardiography (TTE)., , These changes include thickened, speckled left and right ventricular walls, dilated atria, advanced diastolic dysfunction, and trivial pericardial effusions., , Global longitudinal strain (GLS) is significantly reduced, and polar maps typically show apical sparing., Previous reports suggest that selected patients who achieve hematologic remission after chemotherapy and peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT) may demonstrate significant regression of macroscopic cardiac features., It has previously been suggested that GLS does not change over time after diagnosis., We report the first case of one such patient who developed regression of two-dimensional echocardiographic abnormalities and normalization of average GLS.
