Background Osteoporotic bone brings unique challenges to orthopaedic surgery, including a higher likelihood of problematic screw stripping in cancellous bone. Currently, there are limited options to satisfactorily repair stripped screws. Additionally, nonstripped screws hold with less purchase in osteoporotic bone.
