Plant germplasm resource is an important component of biodiversity and holds in store hidden important genes for improving crop varieties. It is the genetic resource for plant breeders to develop new culti-vars. A great attention has been paid to plant germplasm resource collection, conservation, evaluation and utilization all over the world. Xinjiang is of a typical continental climate and extremely rich in plant resources. The distribution, research and utilization of plant germplasm resources in Xinjiang are summarized. Analyses of existing problems have been conducted and the necessity and the measures to protect the resources and developing their innovations with reason and relevant utilization work were also put forward in this paper.%植物种质资源是生物多样性的重要组成部分,蕴藏着农作物品种改良的重要基因,是育种家用来选育新品种的重要材料,世界各国都非常重视植物种质资源收集、保存、评价与创新利用研究.新疆的植物种质资源十分丰富,具有多样性和特异性,植物的种类与我国其它省区相比有着很大差异.概述了新疆植物种质资源的分布与研究利用情况,分析当前存在的问题,提出抢救和保护新疆植物种质资源的必要性和应采取的措施,合理开展资源创新与利用.
