Recent data obtained through analysis of the World Health Organization (WHO) on Tobacco epidemic 2019 indicate that about 5 million people (65%) of the world's popula-tion are now covered by at least by one MPOWER meas-ure (Monitor tobacco use and prevention policies;protect people from tobacco smoke;offer help to quit tobacco use;warn about the dangers of tobacco;enforce bans on tobacco advertising,promotion and sponsorship;raise taxes on tobacco) at the highest achievement levels,which has been quadrupled since 2007,when one billion people (15%) were covered [1].Of the 5 million people protected by at least one complete POWER measure,3.9 billion live in low-and middle-income countries.Brazil and Turkey are the only two middle-income countries that have adopted all POWER measures at the highest level.
