In order to properly set up water quality monitoring sections and to save monitoring costs, the similarity method was used to optimize 18 monitoring sections of the main stream of the Xiangjiang River. The optimization results were verified by t-tests and were modified according to the actual demand of water environmental management. The results show that the number of the water monitoring sections was reduced to 17 after optimization, and t-tests verified that the water quality information before and after optimization had no significant difference, indicating that the similarity method has practicability for optimization of water quality monitoring sections. However, it is necessary to consider the actual requests to make the optimization results more applicable.%为了合理设定水质监测断面,节约监测成本,以湘江干流为研究区,选用贴近度法对湘江干流18个监测断面进行优化,采用t值检验法对优化结果进行验证,并结合水环境管理的实际需求,对优化结果进行了修正,结果优化后的湘江干流监测断面减少为17个,且优化后断面所反映的水质与优化前无显著差异,表明贴近度法在水质监测断面优化中实用性较好,但需结合实际情况,使优化结果更具应用价值.
