Two Focuses of China’s Economic Reforms

Questions raised Three decades ago,between October 1987 and June 1988,the State Commission for Restructuring the Economic System invited eight institutions,including Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(CASS),Party School of the Central Committee of Communist Party of China(CPC)and the research team of Peking University,etc.,to make reports on the Outline of the 1988-1995 Economic Restructuring Plan.At the seminar where more than one hundred economists discussed these reports,the most debated question was about the focuses of China’s economic reforms.The research team of Peking University and Party School of the Central Committee of CPC held that enterprise reforms should follow the focuses of China’s economic reforms.
