Pathogeneses and preventive methods of acute encephalocele during traumatic cerebral operation

To discuss the reason for and preventive methods of acute encephalocele during traumatic cerebral operation.Methods Retrospective analysis of 76 patients with acute encephalocele was made.Results The main causes of acute encephalocele were delayed intracranial heamatomas,acute diffuse brain swelling,brain hernia with brain infarction,cerebral contusion and laceration in Sylvain tissue and the blocked respiratory pipe and so on.Conclusion There are many causes of encephalocele,so scanning CT timely,finding the causes and using the effective treatments were all imperative to improve the clinical effects.4 refs.
