THE MECHANISM OF POLY (VINYL CHLORIDE) PARTICLE FORMATION DURING THE SUSPENSION POLYMERIZATION PROCESS

         

摘要

<正> Poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) resin was sampled with a special cell from the autoclave at differentstages of suspension polymerization. The samples keeping the original morphology and structure wereexamined by scanning electromicroscopy (SEM). It shows that the formation of PVC primary particlereaults from simultaneous propagation and agglomeration. The primary particles within the grainsagglomerate to form continuous network further so that PVC grains are porous. The morphology andstructure of grains are mainly controlled by such factors as polymerization temperature, agitation andproperties of dispersant solution.
