THE UPSTREAM REGULATORY SEQUENCE OF YEAST ACID PHOSPHATASE GENE PHO5

         

摘要

<正> Expression of yeast acid phosphatase gene PHO5 is strongly regulated in response to the level ofinorganic phosphate present in the growth medium.The coding region of PHO5 gene is fused in framewith lacZ and assayed by β-galactosidase activity.Using nuclease Bal31,the 5'-flanking sequence ofPHO5 gene is deleted.The levels of expression of various deletions show two upstream activation site(UAS)regions located at the -419 to -395 and -380 to -352 upstreams of the initiation codon,which are cis-acting elements required for the phosphate control of PHO5 gene expression.
