A Study of the Law of Flame Spread Over Wooden Beams and Their Frames

＜正＞ To investigate the flame spread over wood and its influence On practical scene of a fire.woodenbeams are chosen as research object.The wood dispersed on a certain scene of a fire can be considered asthe frames combined by wooden beams with certain sizes.So,through the study of wooden frames the transi-tion from experimental model to practice will be realized. By means of experimental methods.several main factors influencing flame spread over wooden beamsare emphatically discussed.On this basis,a formula about the flame spreading speeds versus orientations,geometric sizes and surrounding temperatures has been summarized.The combustion tests about woodenframes with small sizes show that under the circumstances of lover combustion intensity the results of flamespread over single wooden beams ale basically suitable for the wooden components of the frames.Because ofthe interaction between the components of the frames.the flame spreading speed of a certain component isfaster than burning alone.For wooden frames with bigger sizes while using the results of the single woodenbeams, the interaction of the caloric given by the combustion of wooden components during the processesof flame spread must be considered
