Relative to the traditional testing methods, such as radiography, the advantages of TOFD inspection technique are more suitable for the thick - wall welds, higher testing sensitivity, more protective to the environment and more sensitive to the crack - like defects. The paper discusses TOFD inspection preparation, data acquisition and analysis in accordance with characteristics of spherical tanks.
