Modeling of carbon monoxide (CO) removal by a corona plasma was conducted inthis study. The purification efficiency of CO was calculated theoretically and the factors affectingthe removal of CO were analyzed. The results showed that the main removal mechanisms of COwere direct dissociation by generated high-energy electrons and indirect oxidation by generatedhydroxyl radicals. The purification efficiency of CO was dependent on the plasma parameters,indoor air humidity and initial concentration of CO. Good consistency between the theoreticalcalculation and the experimental results was observed.
