Methane Conversion to C_2 Hydrocarbons Using Glow Discharge Plasma

摘要

The infrared emission spectra of methane,H,CH and C_2 hydrocarbons in naturalgas were measured.The process of methane decomposition and C_2 hydrocarbons formation wasinvestigated.The experiment showed that the time and conditions of methane decomposition andC2 hydrocarbons formation were different.Methane conversion rate increased with the increase inthe current and decrease in the amount of methane.Furthermore,an examination of the reactionmechanisms revealed that free radicals played an important role in the chain reaction.
