Dresden is the capital city of Sachsen with more than 800 years history in Germany. The Neumarkt in Dresden has been the center of the old city for centuries, with the most important church, Frauenkirche, located in the market and surrounded by lots of baroque historic architecture. In 1945 because of the bombing by Great British' s airforce, most of Dresden were ruined including Neumarkt. Located in the heart of the city, the restoration and reconstruction of Neumarkt was a significant work which lasted for more than half a century, and now the rebuilding has been almost finished, that makes Neumarkt busy and hot again. What is special is that it witnessed a political transform, which made a deep ideological influence upon the urban plan.
